PESHAWAR, Dec 10: The opposition in the NWFP Assembly has submitted a joint requisition notice on Tuesday to the office of the speaker for convening the session to discuss the lawlessness, price-hike and other issues.
Abdul Akbar Khan and Tariq Khattak of the PPP and Murid Kazim of the PPP-S had submitted a joint notice to the speaker’s office. Mr Khan, parliamentary leader of the PPP, had got the requisition notice signed from all the 42 opposition members before the Eid holidays.
The four opposition parties — both the factions of the PPP, ANP and both the factions of the PML — have yet to decide that who would lead the joint opposition in the House.
The PML-N had voted to Akram Khan Durrani of the MMA, however, later, it opted to play its role as an opposition party in the provincial assembly.
