KHAIRPUR, Dec 10: The people of Khairpur held protest demonstrations on Tuesday against the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) regarding the low gas pressure in the city as a result of which kerosene and wood had to be used as fuel.

Rallies were taken out by the Khairpur Citizens Council, the Sindh Democratic Alliance, the Khairpur Citizens Ittehad, and other welfare organizations. The main rally was led by the chairman, Khairpur Citizens Council, Syed Akbar Abbas.

The protesters marched through various roads and finally stopped in front of the press club.

The leaders of various social organizations alleged that the SSGCL had failed to provide the gas to the consumers for the last two weeks, particularly in the morning, and added that the localities of Bawa Alam, Punj Hatti, Abid Colony, Faizabad Ali Murad, and Dabbar had been affected the worst.
