Pindi Nazim for timely completion of schemes


RAWALPINDI, Dec 9: District Nazim Raja Tariq Kiani has emphasized on the officers of the building department to accelerate pace of work on ongoing schemes and start construction work on projects for which orders have been issued.

He passed these directions while presiding over a meeting of the officers of the district government here on Monday.

The district Nazim said neither any compromise would be made on the quality of construction nor any negligence in the completion of development projects would be allowed.

He also directed the district officer, Roads to take effective steps for the completion of construction and repair of roads situated in the district.

Mr Kiani asked the RDA’s director traffic engineering to complete construction work of the new fountain at Committee Chowk. He also asked him to follow the paper work of Committee Chowk underpass and get it completed as soon as possible.

He directed the RTA secretary to ensure that the transporters strictly complied with the fares fixed by the Punjab government. He said he would conduct surprise checks on various routes to observe compliance of the directives.

The district Nazim asked the TMO Rawalpindi to improve sanitary condition of the city’s residential areas, especially of the public parks for the convenience of the visiting families. He said the sanitary workers should be present at their places of duty otherwise stern action would be taken against those found absent.—APP
