SHIKARPUR: No interference by Centre: Jamali: Formation of govt in Sindh

By Rahmatullah Soomro

SHIKARPUR, Dec 8: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said that the federal government wants no interference in the formation of a government in Sindh.

He said this while addressing the district officers of Shikarpur at Dargah Maulwi Abdul Ghaf-oor of Humayoon Sharif on Saturday.

He said that as the PPP was the majority party, it had democratic right to avail itself of the chance of forming its government in the province.

However, he went on to say that if the PPP failed in forming a government, steps would be taken to form a consensus government in Sindh with the support of other parties in order to run the democratic process in the country.

He said that he believed in the supremacy of law and “real peoples’ democracy” to serve the people so that no one would be allowed to adopt negative politics of agitation.

He said that he would not do anything wrong and everything would be done in accordance with the provisions of law.

He underlined that no one should hope to get any facility against the law because every citizen of Pakistan had equal rights towards getting justice.

He said that no one would be allowed to take the law in his hands and whoever was found involved in creating lawlessness and anarchy would be strictly dealt with according to law.

He said that he would try his best to provide jobs and other facilities to the people on a merit basis without encouraging corruption in these matters.

The prime minister said that agriculture was the backbone of Pakistan so special attention would be given towards this sector in order to make the country self-sufficient in food as well as to improve the socio-economic condition of the agriculturalists.

He expressed his determination to resolve the outstanding problems faced by the people and the country, and added that it would take some time to do so.

He thanked Punjab for its support to give the prime-ministership to Balochistan.

Earlier, federal railways minister Ghaus Bux Khan Mehar welcomed the prime minister.
