Cash incentive for Pakistan cricketers

KARACHI, Dec 5: Pakistani players can expect cash rewards worth 75 million rupees ($1.3 million) if they win next year’s World Cup in South Africa, the PCB announced on Thursday.

“It is basically an incentive programme designed to provide motivation to players,” said a PCB spokesman.

“The PCB chairman believes that the players deserve such cash rewards if they can win a title which is so dear to the cricket-loving people of Pakistan.”

He added that every player in the 15-man squad would receive five million rupees ($85,000) if the team won the title for the first time since 1992.—Reuters
