This was said by the chairman of the DPSC, Masood Pervez, at the inaugural ceremony of the commission’s office on Tuesday. An Iftar party was also arranged on the occasion.

He said the commission would entertain complaints of the people against the police excesses and would approve schemes, prepared by the DPO in consultation with the district Nazim, to improve the police performance.

He said members of the commission would take steps to ensure coordination and liaison between the police and people.

The members would also assist the police officers in disposal of cases against the people, he added.

He said the commission, formed under the police order, 2002, was aimed at improving the police system.
