RAWALPINDI, Dec 4: Three persons, including two women, were shot dead and another woman injured in a family dispute in Tarnol on Wednesday.
SHO Tarnol police station Inspector Mohammad Hussain Lasi said Sagheer Ahmed, the alleged killer, had a dispute with his wife who had lodged an FIR against him with the Golra police, accusing him of assaulting his step-daughter. He is on interim bail in the case.
The investigation officer said: “Since Shahnaz Bibi had lodged an FIR against her husband, she left his house and settled with her parents along with her daughter Mehnaz, 16, who was from her first husband (Shahnaz’s first husband was the elder brother of Sagheer).
HE FURTHER SAID: “Today, the efforts by some notables of the family were in progress to settle the dispute between the couple at Shahnaz’s parents’ house in Dora village of Tarnol when Sageer Ahmed had a brawl with his father-in-law, Mehrban, over some issue.”
During the brawl, Sageer took out a rifle and shot dead his father-in-law. When his wife, Shahnaz Bibi, attempted to stop him, he also shot her and Rukhsana, the wife of his brother-in- law, to death, the police said.
The killer also shot and injured Farzana Bibi, the wife of his younger brother-in-law, before escaping from the scene, the police said.Drug peddler arrested with 3.5 kg charas
AGENCIES ADD: A person was killed here in the jurisdiction of Industrial Area police station when a Mazda bus ran over him.
Miskin was riding his cycle on a busy road in I-10/4 when a speeding bus (IDT-1409) hit him, killing him on the spot.
The bus driver managed to escape.
Meanwhile, the Capital police arrested a drug peddler here on Wednesday with 3.5kgs of charas.
On a tip-off, the Tarnol police stopped the bus in which Syed Kareem was travelling to Islamabad from Peshawar at Motorway Chowk. On searching his luggage, the police found 3.5kgs of high quality charas.
The police have registered a case and started investigations.
