LAHORE, Dec 3: The board of governors of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology has decided to launch a hospital waste incineration project, construct a coronary care unit and a waiting place for relatives of the patients.
A meeting presided over by board chairman Muhammad Tariq was told that a BoG member had taken the responsibility that he would coordinate with the Shalamar Hospital to incinerate the hospital waste. The member would himself bear the cost of the hospital waste incineration.
Another BoG member has announced that he will construct a waiting place for patients’ relatives with a cost of Rs20 million. The waiting place will be constructed in four phases, and the board member will provide Rs5 million every year.
Similarly, a philanthropist has decided to donate Rs300,000 to develop a CCU.
The meeting was also told that the BoG in consultation with senior doctors was devising policies to reform administrative matters to facilitate junior doctors and the paramedical staff and above all the poor patients.
