PESHAWAR, Dec 3: Four aged pro-Taliban prisoners, who were arrested by the Pakistani authorities for interrogation, were released from the central jail here on Tuesday.

A Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal MPA from Dir, Muzaffar Said, welcomed and garlanded them outside the jail.

The released men included Mohammad Hanif, son of Habib Jalal, resident of Lower Dir; Lal Bacha, son of Lal Khan, resident of Lower Dir; Mohammad Hakim, son of Sahib Zar, resident of Kabal (Swat), and Amir Mohammad Khan, son of Haider Khan, also from Kabal.

Earlier, a group of 87 Pakistanis, who were released by the Afghanistan government on Nov 26, were arrested by the political administration of Khyber Agency for their illegal entry into Afghanistan. All the prisoners were later on shifted to the central jail, Peshawar.
