PESHAWAR, Dec 2: The people of Dera Ismail Khan district have demanded of the federal and provincial governments to start transmission of Seraiki programmes and give due coverage to the area from the Peshawar centre of the Pakistan Television.

In a joint press statement issued by the Media Academy of Pakistan, Dera Artists Welfare Forum, Talents of Pakistan, Seraiki Sanol Sangat, Seraiki Sanjh, Star Award Academy, Young Star Academy, Sohni Dharti Art Academy and Seraiki Waseb on Sunday, the literary and cultural associations felicitating the PML-Q government in the Centre and the MMA government in the NWFP hoped that they would work in harmony to relieve the sufferings of the neglected strata of the society.

They said that even a half an hour Seraiki programme Bhaitak of the PTV, Peshawar centre, was stopped for the vested interests of a handful elements.
