HYDERABAD, Nov 30: The University of Sindh will set up its campus in Saudi Arabia.

This decision was taken at a meeting held here on Saturday.

The meeting also discussed the possibility of setting up a campus in the Middle East.

It discussed financial matters, availability of trained faculty members and other staff and location of campuses in Saudi Arabia and the Middle Eastern countries.

It constituted a three-member committee to prepare work plan for the scheme.

In the first phase, information technology, business administration, commerce and economics courses will introduced and in the second and third phases computer laboratories and laboratories for other sciences disciplines will be set up.

The meeting also decided that to attract foreign students, better facilities at the university hostels will be provided.

Vice-Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui presided over the meeting.

ADMISSION: The director, admissions, University of Sindh, has announced that candidates having 478, 1,156, 1,200, 1,465, 1,651, 1,766, 1,769, 1,824, 1,843, 2,049, 2,545, 2,829, 2,901, 3,035, 3,305, 3,453, 3,784, 3,822, 4,114, 4,300, and 4,318 computer code numbers have been provisionally selected for admission to BA, part-I, fine arts.

appeal: A landlord has appealed the authorities concerned to entrust the investigation of two murder cases, registered with the Nawabshah district police, to an impartial agency.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Saturday, the landlord of the Ghazi Khan Hoath village, Nawabshah taluka, Shamsuddin Hoath, said he and his brother, Niazi Khan, had been falsely implicated in one of the FIRs.

He said Umed Ali Hoath and Samano Hoath had been killed in Ghazi Khan Hoath village in two different incidents on Oct 16.

He alleged in both the murders, Pir Bux Hoath and his sons were involved.

The landlord, however, said due to political rivalry, he and his brother were implicated in the murder of Samano.

He said a Jirga, held on Nov 24, had declared Pir Bux guilty and ordered him to pay compensation to the aggrieved party.

He alleged the police and the civil administration were supporting the murderers.

Electrification: As many as 162 villages of Hyderabad district will be energized during village electrification programme, said the DCO in a meeting.
