KARACHI, Nov 16: The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has decided to make arrangement in collaboration with the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, to train their officials in the tax management, IBA Director Danishmand told APP on Saturday.
At present the officers after joining the taxation department are sent for training to the Civil Services Academy, Lahore, where they receive training in various subjects, concerning principles of general administration, rule and procedure governing the civil services in Pakistan and many other topics.
It has been decided that the officials belonging to the taxation department will have to pass a special course on tax management that will include income tax, customs duties, sales tax, excise duty, etc.
The IBA will prescribe the syllabus for the course, supervise teaching arrangements and hold examinations.
The officials will be required to follow all the relevant rules, regulations and procedure etc., on matters such as attendance, general discipline, completing practicals and assignments in the same manner as are followed by the IBA’s own students.
