SHIKARPUR, Nov 12: Despite the rates of essential food items have been fixed by the District Price Control Committee, the items are being sold at higher rates in the district.
Social welfare organizations and city associations have demanded control over the prices of essential goods.
ESCAPED: Five persons, allegedly involved in murder and oil theft cases, escaped on Monday night after cutting the iron rods of the Garhi Yasin police lock-up.
Those escaped were Israr Ahmad Mehar, Mukhtiar Ahmad Mehar, Nazir Ahmad Mehar, Najeeb Arain and Abdul Ghaffar.
However, the police re-arrested Mukhtiar, Israr and Nazir in a jungle near Banbhihar village on Tuesday evening.
The police registered a case against the re-arrested persons.
Constable Imam Bux, the security guard of the lock-up, was also arrested by the police.
