PESHAWAR, Nov 8: President of People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPP) NWFP, Khawaja Muhammad Khan Hoti has demanded early convening of assemblies to end the deadlock.

In a press statement issued here on Thursday, Hoti said the delay in the restoration of the democratic process was creating an environment of disbelief among the people.

Adding that the government should remove this sense of distrust from the minds of people by convene the assemblies forthwith.

Hoti also observed that the real democratic parties can end the prevailing political crisis in the country and the new government would have to demonstrate a great sense of responsibility.

In the prevailing circumstances, Hoti said, the confidence of poor people can only be restored if the elected representatives serve the masses above their political leanings.

Development and promotion of democratic culture was the need of the hour so that other systems could be stopped from invading the country, Hoti concluded.—APP
