Saddozai steals show

KARACHI, Nov 3: Brig Tariq Saddozai stole the limelight at the International Veterans Tennis Championships when he bagged both the above 35 and above 45 events on the hardcourts of the Karachi Gymkhana.

The Managing Director of KESC, Brig Saddozai was in tremendous form. with Tayyab Yousuf as his partner, he downed Hummayun Zafar and Imran Ahmed in the final.

It may be mentioned that the Pakistan Veteran Tennis Association registered with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) England, organises International Veterans Tennis Championships every year at the Karachi Gymkhana. The results are then sent to ITF and are included in the World tennis ranking.

In Asia only four countries Pakistan, Japan, Thailand and India are authorised to organise this championship. In Pakistan two trophies are up for grabs, one for the players above 35 years of age and the next one for players above 45. Foreign entries are also accepted.

This year, Wang Xiou Peng, a Chinese, and Turkish players participated.
