Alam excels with six goals

LAHORE, Nov 3: Six goals by Shah Qublai Alam enabled Cherat Cement to win the Members Cup Polo tournament beating Hussain’s Own in the final 8 1/2 -2 at the Lahore Polo Club ground Sunday.

Qublai scored three goals in the first chukker and one each in the second, third and the fourth to complete the tally.

Jamal Iftikhar added two goals for the winners while half goal was the handicap.

For Hussain’s Own, Faaiz Rahim Khan and Hussain Iftikhar scored a goal each.

Earlier, Mixed Bag defeated Falcons 8-2 1/2 to come in third position.

Ahmad Tiwana slammed six goals for the winners while Sufi  Amir and Asma Hayee added one goal each.

For the losers the lone goal was scored by Wassan  Mehta  as they were awarded one and a half goal on handicap.
