MIRPURKHAS, Nov 3: A councillor has demanded extension of Internet facility to Jhuddo.

The member of the Mirpurkhas district council, Khalid Pervez Sadaf, said that the other parts of the district, except Jhuddo, had been connected with Internet.

In a statement issued here, he called for connecting the town with the Internet, enabling the people to benefit from this facility.

TELEPRINTER: The teleprinter of the PTCL had been out of order here for a long time, complained the local people.

In the absence of the teleprinter, telegrams were being sent through ordinary mail, nullifying their very purpose — immediate delivery of messages, they said.

Telegraph facility is available in Mithi, Naokot, Digri, Umerkot and Kot Ghulam Muhammad of Mirpurkhas district, they said.

Earlier, the telegraph lines had been damaged by miscreants after they stole wires from various places.

The authorities remained unmoved despite being repeatedly informed about the situation.
