Sayeed invited to form govt in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Oct 30: New Delhi’s representative in Srinagar on Wednesday invited a coalition headed by Mufti Mohammed Sayeed to form a government in occupied Kashmir.

Governor Girish Chandra Saxena said Sayeed, a former Indian home minister, will be sworn in as the held state’s chief minister on Saturday.

“I am satisfied. They are in a comfortable majority and I have received the letter of support from many parties,” Saxena said in Srinagar.

“I am inviting Sayeed to form a government,” he said.—Reuters
