KARACHI: Harakat activists’ trial put off

KARACHI, Oct 28: The additional district and sessions judge, Central II, Ghulam Qadir Leghari, on Monday put off the hearing of two cases against Muhammed Imran and Muhammed Haneef, alleged leaders of the Harakatul-Mujahideen Al-Alami, till Nov 11.

When the cases were called by the judge holding trial inside the Central Prison, none of the prosecution witness was present, said Raza Abidi, counsel for Imran.

He said the trial court judge then put off the matter repeating notices to the prosecution witnesses.

The cases tried are registered under section 3/4 of Explosive Substance Act and section 13-E of Arms Ordinance.

Six bag containing explosive material and bullets were alleged to have been seized from each of the accused by the rangers, who arrested them and later handed them over to the police.—APP
