Pullback prompts stocks rise


KARACHI, Oct 18: Stocks surged nearly one per cent on Friday after Pakistan said it would follow India’s lead and begin withdrawing troops from common borders, analysts said.

The benchmark Karachi KSE-100 index gained 19.26 points or 0.9pc to close at 2,902.79 points.

The market took the withdrawal of troops from the border positively and investor sentiments was bullish, an expert said.

The KSE-100 rose on Thursday by 10 points.—AFP
