HYDERABAD, Oct 17: The services of two inspector were terminated on charges of corruption on Wednesday.

The regional police officer (RPO), Abdul Rauf Yousufzai, has sent the former SHO of Qasimabad police station, Inspector Dost Mohammad Mangrio, and Inspector Gul Mohammad Gopang of Dadu district on forced retirement.

The former Qasimabad police station SHO was punished for taking a huge bribe on the eve of the Ramapir fair in Tando Allahyar.

Inspector Gul Mohammad Gopang of Dadu district was also involved in taking bribes from policemen.

The RPO also forfeited two-year service of Sub-inspector Shafique Rajput after he was found guilty of taking bribe amounting to Rs80,000 from a girl, Pushpa, for distorting facts.

The former SHO of the Cantonment police station, SIP Javed Iqbal Khanzada, was served a show cause notice.

The RPO also rejected the appeal of ASI Mohammad Yousuf of Mirpurkhas district, who had challenged his punishment awarded by the DIG of Mirpurkhas.

Show cause notices were also served on ASI Hashim Brohi, Head Constable Mohammad Ayub Qureshi, and Constable Shamsuddin for keeping three people in wrongful confinement.

The RPO transferred the DPO, Investigation, Aftab Nizamani, to Digri. He has been replaced by Sikandar Ali Mangi, DSP, Headquarters, Dadu.

Our Correspondent adds: Another policeman, Ahmed Pervez, succumbed to his injuries in the Civil Hospital on Wednesday, raising the death toll of the Railway police recruits to 14.

The accident occurred on Oct 11 after a bus coming from Badin overturned near the Matiari by-pass. Eleven police recruits, the bus’ cleaner as well as its owner were killed in the accident.

Around 46 policemen were admitted to the Civil Hospital.
