APP adds: Leading ranking players from Australia, England, Egypt, Malaysia, Qatar and host Pakistan will be taking part in the four-day main round event, which begins from Saturday.

World No 25 Shahid Zaman, who recently won silver medal for Pakistan in the Asian Games, is top seed while his cousin Mansoor Zaman, world No 27 and the defending champion, is second seed in the championship.

Former world champion Jansher Khan, who has been given a wild card, will also participate along with nine foreigners — Dan Jenson and Mike Corren of Australia, Nick Matthew, Adrian Grant, Bradley Ball and Tim Garner of England, Mohammad Essam A. Hafiz of Egypt), Mohammad Azlan Iskandar of Malaysia and Italy’s Davide Bianchetti in the main round.
