Bodies to review death cases in govt hospitals


ISLAMABAD, Oct 14: All federal government hospitals will form health analysis committees to review the death cases and find the cause of death.

The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of Health Minister Dr. Abdul Malik Kasi and Secretary Health Ejaz Rahmin with hospital heads on Monday.

The minister said in case of a major negligence in the process of treatment, the case might be reported to the ministry. He also called for forming Ethic Committees in all hospital. The committees, working under the hospital head, will have one public representative.

The mortality data like number of deaths, name of disease and cause will be analyzed by the committees and undecided cases may be reported to the ministry.

The minister asked the hospital heads to keep computerized record. — APP
