PPP worker shot dead by PML-Q men

GUJRANWALA, Oct 13: A PPP worker was shot dead allegedly by PML-Q men over an election row in Kot Jahangir village, Naushera Virkan, on Sunday.

Shahzad was chanting slogans in favour of PPP MNA-elect Imtiaz Safdar Warraich when PML-Q’s Ehsanullah, Inaitullah and Saifullah became infuriated and shot him dead.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.

FIVE KILLED: Five people, including a police constable, were killed while 12 others were injured in separate road accidents in and around the city on Sunday.

A wagon was on its way when it collided with another van coming from the opposite side. Constable Akhtar of Ahmadnagar died on the spot, while six other passengers sustained injuries. The injured were taken to a Wazirabad hospital.

Bashir of Talwandi Khajorwali was knocked down by a wagon on Rahwali Road.

Suleman was killed while six other persons were injured when a mini-bus rammed into a roadside tree on Sheikhupura Road.

Ashraf was crushed by a coaster while crossing the road near the Sialkot by-pass intersection.

Sultan Ahmad was run over by a pick-up at Lohianwala by-pass intersection.
