LAHORE, Oct 12: If all goes well, bay mare Perfect Timing may prove good to annex the feature event during the sixth Lahore Winter Meeting at the Racecourse Sunday.
In her last outing on Oct 6, this nine-year-old mare Perfect Timing was beaten by a short-head by bay colt Desert Dream in a tight finish in Islamabad Cup run over 1200 metres.
Almost appearing in the same company and the same class V, she should make amends. Jet Master and King Fisher should fight for the places.
The Burewala Plate to be contested over 1400 metres will be the sixth and last race in a card of six events.
The supporting event, the Rawalpindi Plate, a term race for two-year-old halfbred colts and fillies, maidens at the time of start has only six runners, if there are no last-minute withdrawals.
The distance of the race is 1000 metres and riders are not allowed to carry whips.
All the acceptors will be on the track for the first time. On track work the colt Canwara looks good with Snake River fighting for a place. This will be the fifth race in racing order.
Roan mare Dilnasheen II and two colts Lucky Shot and Haseen Love attract attention in the fourth race, a class VII division I and II combined handicap race to be run over 1400 metres.
If Dilnasheen II stays over the extra furlong added to the race, she should prove better than the two colts.
The third and second race to be contested over the sprinting distance of 1000 metres seems to be open affairs. Both the events are packed with good sprinters.
Umer Jet, Rukhtas Again and Daring Eagle are the chance contestants in the third race and one of them should emerge victorious.
My Own Business, Incognito, Puma Star and Skipper are the form acceptors in the second race. If all on job it should provide a thrilling finish.
In the opener the bay colt Raj Ruks should sprint home as winner. His main rival could be Zargar, who is equally a good sprinter.
The first race will be held at 1.30 pm.
