SUKKUR, Oct 11: Thirty Jatoi tribesmen were booked late Thursday night after two PML-Q polling agents were gunned down in Lakhi Ghulam Shah, some 25 kilometres from Sukkur.

Jan Mohammad Maher and Gul Mohammad Soomro, according to the police, were ambushed while they were on their way to Wazirabad, the native town of the PML-Q Sindh chief Ghous Bakhsh Khan Mehar.

Both of the PML-Q polling agents were killed on the spot.

Police sources said that the murders were not motivated by politics, instead they ascribed their murders to an on-going dispute between the Jatoi and the Maher tribes.

Meanwhile, the PML-Q Sindh chief condemned the murders and termed this incident an act of terrorism besides demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.

The area was highly tense after the incident.

The police have registered an FIR against 30 Jatoi tribesmen, including Anwer Jatoi, Gul Mohammad Jatoi, Kazim Jatoi and Ziauddin Jatoi.
