PTI chief rejects old politicians
PESHAWAR, Sept 26: Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf, Imran Khan, has accused the old politicians of playing into the hands of the US and asked the people to elect young, honest and educated candidates.
Addressing an election rally at Bara, Khyber agency, on Thursday, Imran told the people that Oct 10 was an opportunity for them to elect honest people and rid the country of corrupt elements.
On the occasion, PTI’s provincial leaders Tahir Khan Umarzai, Abid Iqbal, Shah Farman Khan, Zahid Hussain and Javid Afridi were also present.
He said it was time for the young people to come forward and change the lot of the depressed masses and foil the design of those who, he alleged, had looted the country’s wealth. He said that a people-friendly PTI government would be installed after Oct 10.
Referring to the jirga system, Imran said that the tribals practised a unique democratic system from which the people of the settled areas could learnt a lot. He also accused the corrupt political administration for siphoning out funds meant for welfare schemes in the tribal belt.
He also alleged that the government wanted to impose “Lota League” on the people.
He was also critical of the government for allowing FBI agents to hunt Al Qaeda and Taliban fugitives in the tribal belt.
