KARACHI: MMA chief criticizes US role

KARACHI, Sept 25: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal Chief, Allama Shah Ahmed Noorani on Wednesday said that Pakistan does not need any dictation from the United States for the restoration of democracy, as Islam safeguards all basic democratic rights of all citizens.

Talking to newsmen in Karachi, he said religious parties have played a pivotal role for the protection of the country and now, all of them have come closer to each other with the aim to run the affairs of the country in accordance with Islamic principles.

He said the MMA believes in provincial autonomy and distribution of powers at the grass roots level. He urged the masses to bring a change by voting for pious and religious leadership.—PPI
