PESHAWAR, Sept 23: Japanese Ambassador, Sadaaki Numata, and his wife visited the Peshawar Museum on Monday.
A press release issued here said that during his visit the ambassador also saw the 20 pieces of Buddhist sculptures being packed in the museum. These would be sent to Japan to be included in a show on Gandhara Art. Numata expressed keen interest in the collection at the Peshawar Museum.
The Gandhara exhibition is scheduled to open in Tokyo National Museum on Oct 29.
The Peshawar Museum, the press release said, will contributed 20 pieces, Lahore Museum 9, Archaeology Department 12, and National Museum Karachi 7 sculptures.
