Bahrain backs Muslim S&T fund

ISLAMABAD, Sept 16: Bahraini King Shaikh Hamad bin Isa Ali Khalifa has appreciated the initiative taken by Pakistan for promotion of science and technology in OIC countries and stressed the need for investing in research and development.

According to a press release issued here on Monday, the king made the remarks in a meeting with Science and Technology Minister Prof Attaur Rahman, who called on him in Bahrain as a special emissary of President Gen Pervez Musharraf.

Prof Rahman delivered a letter of President Musharraf about setting up of Pan Islamic Fund for R&D activities in science and technology.
