KHAIRPUR, Sept 15: Two villagers, Ali Murad Lashari and Moula Bukhsh Rajpar, were killed here on Sunday when a speedy truck hit them on the National Highway near Rasoolabad in Sobhodero taluka.

The bodies were handed over to their relatives after post-mortem.

The Ranipur police have registered a case.

BREACH: A 55-foot-wide breach developed at the Abul Wah at RD-45 near Gambat on Saturday night, due to which standing crops were submerged.

Some 11 villages were saved from being flooded as the gushing water was diverted to the Kaleri lake.

Following the breach, water supply was suspended to some 10 waterways, which adversely affected the crops in the area.

The breach was plugged at noon.

PROTEST: The family of Jamalan Sodhro, the girl who committed suicide after being gang-raped, continued to hold a protest demonstration on the second consecutive day on Sunday in Bozdar Wada, Thari Mirwah taluka.

Later, they also observed a token hunger strike.

Talking to newsmen, Karam Sodhro, the father of the deceased girl, alleged that the report of her post-mortem was being delayed due to some ulterior motives.

He said that the accused enjoyed the support of some influential people of the area, hence they were pressurising the aggrieved family to withdraw the the case.

Jamalan was assaulted sometime back and she committed self- immolation in protest against the gang-rape.
