EU team assured of free & fair polls

CHARSADDA, Sept 15: A two-member delegation of the European Union Election Observation Mission met Charsadda District Nazim Naseer Mohammad Khan here on Sunday.

The delegation was led by Renata Korber. District returning officer Aurangzeb Khan, assistant election commissioner Jamil Khan and other staff members were also present on the occasion.

The Nazim briefed the delegation on the election arrangements and the political parties participating in the election in the district.

The EU delegation put a number of queries to the Nazim regarding the election process, the turnout in the local bodies polls and presidential referendum as well as the last general election in the district.

The district Nazim assured the delegation that under the directives of the Election Commission and President Pervez Musharraf, the elections would be held in a free, fair and transparent manner.
