KARACHI: Eight cars, 11 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, Sept 13: Nineteen vehicles — eight cars and 11 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Friday, police said.

Four cars were hijacked. Four others were stolen.

Four motorcycles were hijacked. Seven others were stolen.

Police also claimed on Friday to have recovered three cars and two motorcycles.

BEATEN UP: Activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement were beaten up by workers of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) at an election office of the MQM in Gulberg on late Thursday night.

MQM workers were busy in election work at an election office in Federal B- Area’s Block 10.

According to the FIR 112/2002 lodged at Gulberg police station, activists of the MMA, riding on motorcycles, came at an election office of the MQM and attacked the party workers.

Complainant Naveed Khan lodged the FIR and named around one dozen workers of the MMA, including Kaleemullah, Adnan and Latif, in the FIR, police said.
