Police seize narcotics, arms

ATTOCK, Sept 6: At least 15 persons were arrested on Friday while huge quantities of narcotics, illegal firearms and foreign cloth were recovered by Attock Police on the GT Road.

Attock Police, in its drive against criminals, confiscated half a kilogramme of heroin, 19.5 kg of Charas, 1,760 rounds of ammunition, two 30-bore pistols and one carbine from 10 vehicles coming from Peshawar while arresting the following 15 persons: Aamir Abbas, Akhbar, Khan, Ghafran Shah, Sajjad Ahmed, Naveed Shah, Ghaniur Rehman, Amjad, Fasial Shahzad, Ghulam Mohammad, Abid Khan, Waheed Mohammad, Ghulam Mohammad, Shahzad Mir, Umar Khan, and Sher Ahmed Shah.

In the meanwhile, customs staff recovered foreign cloth, worth Rs300,000 as well as tea and electronic items at Kaludhab on GT Road here Kamra.—APP
