SRINAGAR, Sept 4: Javed Mir, a leader of the JKLF, was detained on Wednesday as he was ready to protest against the upcoming elections in the occupied Kashmir.
JKLF spokesman says Mr Mir and three members of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) were intercepted by police at Parimpora, on the outskirts of Srinagar, as they drove to Baramulla and Kupwara to hold anti-poll rallies in the coming days.
“All the four and also the driver of the car were taken to a neighbouring police station,” JKLF spokesman Mohammed Ashraf said and added: “They have been kept in a lock-up.”
