Scotland want to sign Dravid

LONDON, Aug 30: Scotland are hoping to sign Indian vice-captain Rahul Dravid to play for them when they make their debut in England’s one-day Norwich Union Cricket League next summer.

Gwynne Jones, chief executive of Scottish Cricket Limited, spoke to Dravid during last week’s third Test between England and India at Headingley.

They decided to rurn to him after an initial approach to teammate Sachin Tendulkar was rejected and hope to talk to him again in October.

Scotland have been admitted to the Norwich Union League on a three-year trial basis. They have previously taken part in the B&H Cup but that competition came to an end earlier this summer, to be replaced by a new 20-over competition.—PPI
