PESHAWAR, Aug 27: The NWFP Minister for Health, Meher Taj Roghani, has asked the health officials to make foolproof arrangements for the next phase of anti-polio campaign in the province, starting from Sept 1.
Presiding over a meeting of the agency surgeons and executive district health officials at her office here on Tuesday, the minister directed the officials concerned to ensure that no child below the age of five years was left out of the anti-polio drive.
She also stressed the need for imparting medical education to the parents regarding the importance of polio drops so that they could ensure vaccination of their offsprings.
Meher Taj said the eradication of polio from the Frontier province was possible through the cooperation of the people, she told the meeting.
The minister also directed the participants to involve the college students in polio vaccination drive to make it a complete success.
She announced that the health staff would be visiting each and every house in the fifth phase, starting from Sept 1, where they would administer polio drops to all the children below the age of five years.
She also expressed satisfaction over the efforts undertaken by the health officials to eradicate polio from the Frontier province.
