ISLAMABAD, Aug 22: The Chief Election Commissioner on Thursday said the parties’ lists for the women and non-Muslims might contain as many names of additional candidates as a political party might deem necessary.

The list of nominated candidates in order of priority for the seat reserved for women and non-Muslims in the national assembly and the provincial assemblies were to be submitted to the Election Commission or the Provincial Election Commission who should forthwith arrange for such lists to be published for the information of the public.

The CEC said that all such political parties, which are taking part in the forthcoming general elections, should submit the separate lists of their candidates in order of priority for seats reserved for non-Muslims in the national assembly with the returning officer for the seats reserved for non-Muslims in the NA in the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad on or before Aug 24.
