SYDNEY, Aug 15: Australian striker Jeremy Hiskins Thursday failed a fitness test on an injured ankle and will miss this month’s Champions Trophy field hockey tournament in Germany.

Coach Barry Dancer said Hiskins has been replaced by Ben Bishop, who will make his international debut at the Champions Trophy in Cologne, which starts on Aug 31.

Dancer said he was disappointed for Hiskins, but saw this as an opportunity for another player.

“It is a triple disappointment for Jeremy because he missed the Four Nations tournament with illness, was left out of the Commonwealth Games team, and now he is injured for the Champions Trophy,” Dancer said in a statement.
