KARACHI, Aug 7: Ace cueist Saleh Muhammad with upcoming Farhan Noor and Mirza Shadab Baig made significant improvements on the National Ranking Chart (NRC) released by Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) Wednesday.
NWFP’s Saleh jumped to second spot from his previous fifth position to secure a place in the two-member Pakistan squad for the World Snooker Championship being held in Cairo (Egypt) in October.
It was due to his magnificent victory over Amit Parwani in the final of Red and White Cup which elevated him second in the ladder behind Pakistan number Khurram Hussain of Sindh.
Saleh slipped to 39th in the NRC after an unfortunate incident in Karachi after which he wat out of the contests for nearly six months. However he fought all the way to reach the top again.
Farhan Noor of Punjab rose to 20th spot from his 29th ranking due to fine performance in Red and White Cup while Shadab Baig of Sindh also pushed him to 23rd spot from 28th.
Former Pakistan number two Younus Amir Bakhsh made steady rise by reaching to 24th from 27th. Amit Parwani soared to ninth after being placed 11th in the previous ranking.
