Rs1m, mobile phones looted

FAISALABAD, Aug 6: Four masked bandits on Tuesday looted Rs1 million in cash and mobile phones worth thousands of rupees from a mobile phone shop on the Faisalabad-Satiana Road.

The bandits entered the shop near Saleemi Chowk and held hostage salesmen and customers. The gangsters snatched Rs1 million from the cashier and thousands of rupees in cash from the customers. They also collected over two dozen mobile phones and escaped after locking all those present in the shop.

Although the police was informed immediately, they failed to find the clue of outlaws till the filing of this report.

When contacted, Peoples Colony police muharrer said that a special police team had been constituted for the arrest of culprits. He said a case would be registered on the direction of police high ups and after receiving formal application from the victims.

Meanwhile, robbers made off with cash, gold ornaments, a car and two motorcycles in six strikes in the city during the last 24 hours.

Armed men forced their entry into the house of Bhaiwala Union Council Nazim Asim Karim in the jurisdiction of Nishatabad police station. They injure the Nazim and his brother when they put up resistance, collected cash, gold ornaments and other valuables from the house and escaped.

Two masked robbers snatched Rs200,000 from trader Sheikh Aftab Ahmed in Sidhupur when he was going to pay salaries to the employees of his factory.

Another two masked men held up trader Muhammad Shoaib and took away his new car (No FDZ 8443) from Faisalabad-Satiana Road.

Three gangsters took away two-wheeler from Sikandar Ali on Faisalabad-Jaranwala Road when he was on his way to home after purchasing some food items.

Muhammad Adnan took away Rs500,000 from the house of his employer Muhammad Arshad in Madina Town.

Some unidentified robbers snatched a two-wheeler from a resident of Mamun Kanjan.
