PESHAWAR, Aug 1: The Pakistan People’s Party has decided to form a grand election alliance with the like-minded forces in the NWFP to defeat the “King’s parties”.

Provincial PPP chief Khwaja Mohammad Khan Hoti confirmed on Thursday that a party delegation would soon hold a meeting with provincial PML chief Pir Sabir Shah on the formation of the alliance. The PPP and PML would go for a seat-to-seat adjustment in certain districts with other parties, he added.

He said the Awami National Party would also be contacted on the issue.

The PPP leader said that the alliance would prove to be a step forward in their struggle for the restoration of democracy, and asked the democracy-loving forces to unite on this one-point agenda.

Khwaja Mohammad Khan Hoti said the PPP would start its electioneering by holding a public meeting at Charsadda.

He said the enthusiasm demonstrated by the PPP workers during the intra-party elections would help them win the October polls.
