Farooq slams hat trick

KARACHI, July 29: Ghulam Farooq slammed a hat trick in Karachi Port Trust’s (KPT) thumping 6-0 triumph over Victory Sports in the All-Pakistan invitation football tournament at Baloch Mujahid Stadium Monday.

KPT started with a 2-0 lead before the half time with Fareed Majeed (22nd minute) and Ghulam Farooq (38th minute) on target.

Farooq completed his hat trick slamming in the 52nd and 64th minutes. Auranzaib found the cage in the 70th minute, while Lal Bukhsh completed the rout in 85th minute.

Hazara Mohammadan edged past Zico Sports 3-2. Mohammad Shahzad gave Hazara Mohammadan a confident start with two first half goals (9th and 25th minute).

Arif Ali reduced the margin 2-1 three minutes after the restart. Hazara Mohammadan went 3-1 ahead through Sajjad Ahmad in the 60th minute, while Laique Ali’s 72nd-minute effort cut the deficit 3-2.
