Two minor Siblings drown

BAHAWALNAGAR, July 23: Two minor siblings drowned in a canal in Chishtian on Tuesday.

Reports said one Bushra was taking her children—Shakeel and Sania—to a village. Near destination, Shakeel asked her mother to drink some water from canal and he went near it. He lost his balance and drowned in the canal. The desperate mother, along with Sania, jumped into the canal. However, some villagers rescued the mother. Sania also drowned.

The aggrieved mother was not in her senses till last reports came in.

ARRESTED: The local police on Monday night arrested the killers of a girl over her resistance in a rape bid in tehsil Chishtian two weeks back.

The police claimed they had arrested Arif, Pappi, Iqbal, Kala and Nazar Muhammad.

Scores of people of the locality took to streets and refused to bury the girl. Over continuous protest, the police registered a case against the accused.
