KARACHI: Reckless driving claims two lives

KARACHI, July 23: A young girl and a man fell victim to reckless driving in the city on Tuesday.

A young girl, Asma, aged 20, was run over by a speeding truck in New Karachi.

Police said Inayatullah was driving a motorcycle and his niece Asma was sitting in the back seat of the motorcycle when a speeding truck knocked them off. Both Inayatullah and his niece fell down on the road. Asma was run over by a truck. She died on the spot.

Inayat, resident of Orangi Town, was also injured in the accident. Police impounded the truck (LSB-8403) and arrested its driver, Mohammed Gul.

A hit-and-run vehicle killed Afsar Khan, aged 50, in Sharifabad.
