PESHAWAR, July 22: The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) is focusing on those plans which are to be implemented through communities.

This was stated by Dr Naseem Ashraf, Minister for State and Chairman of the Commission, at the inaugural ceremony of the first Human Development Support Unit at Sheikh Maltoon, Mardan.

He said the commission was providing financial help to the departments concerned for the promotion of primary education and healthcare.

Dr Ashraf said the federal government had provided Rs2 billion fund to the commission whereas 25 Pakistanis in the United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates had contributed $2.5 million.

The projects would include primary education, primary healthcare, adult literacy and performance of vocational training.—APP
