By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, July 19: A four-member IMF mission is arriving here on Aug 8 to review the economic performance of Pakistan during the fourth quarter (April-June) of 2001-2002 and discuss new budget estimates of the current financial year.

Official sources told Dawn here on Friday that the review mission will stay in Pakistan till Aug 21 and during this period will also visit Karachi to meet the senior officials of the State Bank of Pakistan.

Upon completion of this review, the IMF mission will submit its report to its executive board in the last week of August. “And the executive board is expected to approve the fourth tranche of about $120 million, out of the $1.3 billion Poverty Reduction Growth Facility (PRGF), in early October this year,” a source said.
