KARACHI: Bodies on exhumation

KARACHI, July 9: For exhumation of dead body, the Sindh health department has constituted committees for various districts.

The order issued states that for Karachi and Thatta districts, committee will consist of MS Civil Hospital Karachi as chairman, while its members will be Prof. Tariq Mirza (DMC), Dr Ghulam Ali (SMC) and police surgeon, Karachi as convener.

For districts Hyderabad, Dadu, Badin, Mirpurkhas and Tharparkar, chairman will be MS Liaquat University Hospital and members will be Prof Umer Memon (LUMHS, Jamshoro / Hyderabad), Prof. A. Latif Soomro (LUMHS, Jamshoro/ Hyderabad) and police surgeon, Hyderabad as its convener.

For districts Nawabshah, Naushero Feroze, Sanghar, and Khairpur, MS Peoples Medical College Hospital Nawabshah will be chairman and members are Prof. Anwar Ali Akhund of pathology, PMCH, Nawabshah, Dr Mir Muhammad Sahito (PMCH, Nawabshah) and police surgeon, Nawabshah as convener.

For district Larkana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Ghotki and Sukkur, MS Chandka Medical College Hospital Larkana will be chairman while members will be Prof Saleh Memon (CMC Larkana) Dr. Ghulam Qadir Kaheri, (CMC, Larkana) and Police Surgeon, Larkana as convener.

The members of exhumation committees can include a WMLO/WMO in case of a female dead body.—PPI
