Gas plant demanded

KOHAT, July 1: The Nazim of Shakardarra union council has demanded of the Oil and Gas Development Corporation (OGDC) to fulfil its promise about the construction of a gas plant in the area.

Addressing a public meeting in Shakardarra on Sunday, Nazim Abdul Rasheed Khattak said that NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah and Kohat district Nazim Engineer Malik Asad had been informed about the violation of the agreement by the OGDC.

He demanded that gas should be supplied to the area on priority basis, saying that the construction of an injection point and gas plant in Shakardarra was imperative for the development of the area.

He also informed the meeting that a 40-bed hospital would be constructed in the area with a cost of Rs18 million which would be equipped with modern machinery and provide all essential health care facilities to the people.— Correspondent
