QUETTA, June 30: The siege to Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti’s fort-like residence in Dera Bugti came to an end on Sunday when the government withdrew its forces, deployed around the fort two weeks ago.
Armed Frontier Corps (FC) personnel vacated their pickets and trenches, established in front of Mr Bugti’s residence, sources said, adding that the militiamen deployed around the house had also left their positions.
Sources in the Jamhoori Watan Party confirmed to Dawn that the Bugti tribesmen, who had holding positions against the FC men, had started vacating their positions.
They said all the pickets established by the FC personnel and the tribesmen would be abandoned in the next few days.
